MINI VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE!! HERE’S WHY:

MAKE VOLLEYBALL MORE ACCESSIBLE TO YOUNGER PLAYERS

Smaller Court, Lower Net, Less People. Making the game easier for younger entry level players to get it in. Our practices involve instruction and importantly, lots of play!

TEACH & REWARD COOPERATION, CHARACTER, AND EFFORT

This is a sport that has a national championship for coed Open level play, that tens of millions play at the park and recreation/church levels as a way to meet new friends. Let them move, run, throw and play hard. Help kids learn a game they can play at a high level or just simply play for life. We reward cooperation and effort and have FUN; we want to give instruction without bogging them down with constant technique correction.

WE MAKE OUR LARGEST TEAM SIZE 4 PLAYERS WHEN WE PLAY

We put up more nets and play all games more like the Olympic sport of beach volleyball. Your kids get tons of chances to play the ball. When the ball comes over, 4 v 4 play gets kids on average twice and many touches on the ball as 6 v 6

PLAY!!!

You are not training them for the Olympics; you are teaching them to LOVE activity and fitness. Enjoy the game, as the game teaches the game. Why would kids want to play a sport that is no fun, or if they rarely get to play games? We play at least half of practice.

SPIKE FIRST AND OFTEN

This is THE skill that all love to do, and right now everyone in the world is forced to beg for it (“Coach, when can we hit?”). Lower the nets, so they CAN hit. Put them waaaay down so everyone can hit over them easy.

TEACH THEM TO TEACH THEMSELVES

If you have a group of 25 kids and 30 minutes, you can only give about a minute of individual attention to each. Active learning is preferable listening to coach talk the whole time. We want kids to learn how to generate the game themselves. We “SHOW THEM” rather than “TELL THEM” what to do
